Does the protein powder kill your kidney?
We all might have started admiring the thick muscles of Arnold shwazenger and Silvester stallion right from our adolescence. Chiseled one instead of the lean ones were an instant hit among the youths. To have such handsome bodies guys started flowing into gyms. After the initial enthusiasm the interest to workout will slowly wean away. They may find it even difficult to walk. That’s when people start looking for short cuts. Usually their search end up in protein powder.
1. What is muscle?
Muscle is a tissue that helps the movement of animals, including humans. Muscles have the ability to reduce when the electrical message from the nerves reaches it. There are a number of flexible but inelastic cords of strong fibrous collagen tissue attaching a muscle to a bone to transmit to the bones the strength of the muscles.. Their names are called tendons. Muscle shrinkage makes it easier to use the joints, using the power to transmit to the bones. That is how we walk, run, and lift up heavily.
There are more than 600 smaller and larger muscles in our body. There are a certain number of cells in our muscle when we are born. The number of these cells does not increase in the future. These cells cannot be recovered anyway, even if they cause any injury or blood loss. What these cells can do only is to absorb more protein and become cells that shrink with more energy. When such protein is absorbed, the size of each cell increases. This program is called hypertrophy. Whenever there is increase in the levels of the hormone called testosterone, the thickness and weight of the muscles also increases. As aforesaid this is due to the fact that the cells in the muscle are more prone to absorb proteins. The reason for more physical strength of men and more visibility of the muscles in their body from adolescence is the presence of testosterone.
2. True to hear that hormone is injected into muscles?
Yes. The body produces some special chemicals that can increase the size of the muscles. One of those is testosterone. Other such chemicals are called anabolic steroids. If they are injected from the outside or otherwise, the muscle growth increases. Many well-known bodybuilders use this shortcut to create beautiful body.
But there are many side effects to this. As you know that the testosterone is produced mainly in the testicles of men. The testosterone is produced when a chemical substance called luteinizing hormone is released from pituitary glands reaches testis. The notable point here is that only the testosterone released by testicles only can produce sperm cells. The production of sperm cells cannot be stimulated if testosterone is injected from the outside. If testosterone is injected to have more muscle, Luteinizing hormone from the pituitary gland will stop because of the presence of testosterone in the blood. This is the very precaution of the body to prevent hormonal damage. (This is called negative feedback ). When this happens, the production of testosterone from the testicles will be reduced and the sperm cannot be produced. For these people, no matter how masculine they are, no children can be produced. Only long-term waiting periods after stopping of testosterone injection may yield to a child. Similar side effects are also seen for other anabolic steroids. These drugs may be used in the treatment of certain ailments but the use of these drugs is not a good idea to increase muscle mass.
3. Can protein powder be considered as steroids?
Protein powder is not a medicine. They are dietary supplements. Muscles will automatically enhance and maintain a good smoother look when your muscles get enough strain in the stages of exercise. This happens naturally. Protein needed to grow these muscles can be obtained from our diet. If you do not have desirable amount of protein in your diet, no matter how much exercise you do there is no increased muscle shape or size.
4. What is a protein powder?

Protein powder is a supplementary diet that is prepared to increase the levels of protein into the body when you try to cope with these difficulties. Protein powders come in various forms. The three common ones are whey, soy, and casein protein. Of all the forms and types and strands of the much loved Protein, whey protein is the King. Whey used to be considered a waste by-product of cheese and curd manufacturing. This powder has a high price as a value added product. Additionally, protein powder is available in the market with added essential vitamins and minerals.
5. Some patients from the hospital have been prescribed to prescribe protein powder. What is the need for this?
When you get rid of certain diseases, your body needs more protein-like materials. If the health of the patients is usually poor, the body may not be able to find the protein needed for such construction. For the patients post surgery and other people who are suffering from burns and other diseases, protein supplements will help them to get rid of the disease quickly. Protein powder can be suggested to patients for this purpose.
6.Does protein powder kill the kidney?
Protein powder is used to keep the amino acids essential to the growth of the muscles if they are not available from the diet. So people who do not have enough exercise do not get the benefit of having protein powder. To build a pound of muscle, the body needs between 10 and 14 additional grams of protein per day.
That’s not really that much. Some of these powders have 80 grams of protein per serving. You don’t need that. All your body is going to do is break it down for energy. And too much protein can be hard on your kidneys and your liver. Protein powders are not really necessary if you have access to a normal, healthy diet.
